Maize maze

We went to Sauchuk farm on Columbus day....here is Gigi in the "cow train"
This is a pretty cute idea...a big sand box, but instead of sand it is filled with dried corn. It was a big hit with the kids.
There were many "cornundrum" signs throughout the maze. Thought this one was cute!
Annie, Auntie Anna, and Uncle Don came with us. It was a nice afternoon.

First day of school 2009

It didn't take very long for Jadzia to find her name and sit down at her table to start the day!
ok - these are backwards! This is Jadzia getting off the bus at school for her first day of kindergarten.

Off to school she goes!

Waiting for the bus with her friend Kaci

Cassidy ready to walk to the bus with her friend Becky. This is Cassidy's first day, of 6th grade - middle school already!

Smart Start T Ball

Jadzia played smart start T ball this spring...here are some pics from the last day. The kids played a game against the adults. Here I am running off the field after Jadzia tagged me out..I love that she is doing a dance on second base in celebration. The other two adults in the picture are two of the coaches...the, along with coach Mike were great with the kids!
I was trying to catch a picture of Jadzia in the "ready position"...but she is already starting to stand up in this one. When she is really in the "ready position" it looks like a cross between going to the bathroom and doing ballet.

running the bases........in case you are wondering the kids "won" by about 35 runs...they kept running, and running, and running

up at bat, sorry for the blurry shot...

ok, the pictures are backwards again...here is the pregame warm-up. Jadzia has the black pants and pink (of course) glove.

its been a while...

here is my new tattoo that I got for my birthday....(I'm 36 now). It is a copy of a piece of scrimshaw that my brother Randy made for me.......now I have a piece of his artwork forever.
Joe and I drove to Boston the day after my bday to go out with my friends. This is Holly and Jackson.

don't know why this one got put in twice.....

Lindsay, Jen, Lexie, Megan, Aaron...we all work at Childrens together

Joe and I had fun.....I thought bringing Joe would make me behave better, but I guess not...I drank WAY too much and was sick the next day This one was taken on Savannah's birthday. She's 15 this year...can't believe it! We had some friends/family over for ice cream cake, and my brother brought chinese food yummy!

Jadzia had her birthday in April too...on Easter. She is a big 5 year old now and excited about starting kindergarten in the fall.

we played pin the tail on the easter bunny.....thanks to Savannah for drawing the Easter bunny

The trampoline occupied most of their time. The kid all the way to the right is David...Jadzia says she is going to marry David someday. The funny thing is, David's mom used to babysit Savannah.

Cassidy and her friends made egg shaped pinatas for the bday party...here they are before painting.

April Fools!

Sorry no picture...but you all know what this looks like. It happened so fast, couldn't get a pic. Cassidy has been talking about doing this for a month...and since Savannah said "you'll never be able to fool me"...she became the target. And she fell for it! Cassidy used a rubber band to get the spray nozzle to stay in the ON position. I called Savannah out of her room to put the dishes in the dishwasher...which is a chore she does often, but I felt a little bad because she was already in bed (and it was only 7:30). Just as she was starting I reminded her to rinse the plates a little because "we are tired of the dishwasher getting clogged because you don't rinse the dishes"...so a couple of plates later she turned on the faucet and got a shower...all over her shirt!!! Very funny! She tried not to smile, but we could tell she thought it was funny, she dropped the dish in the sink and stomped off to bed! Cassidy was very pleased with herself!

Coco Key

We went for an overnight trip to Coco Key water resort this past week....it was a great time. We checked into the hotel on Wednesday and left late Thursday afternoon. The place was a little crowded because of school vacation, but not too bad......there was plenty of room for everyone. Here is Savannah coming down one of the slides...it was tough to take pictures of the girls on these slides because I couldn't see them until they were almost out of the tube.
Jadzia loved playing with all of the water...it was fun to do something that is usually only done in the summer.

Cassidy crossing the pool....you hold on to the ropes above your head and walk across the floating blocks.

Playing in the splash pool

These were the slides Jadzia used most of the time...she was excited to be able to do it all by herself. They had life jackets available to use, but Jadzia could touch in all of the pools she went in.

Savannah and Jadzia going around the lazy river

Cassidy taking a turn on the small slides

More splash pool fun!
It is hard to believe that the vacation week is over............we have had a great time!

Happy New Year 2009!

2008 ended perfectly.........this is my new little neighbor, Nicholas. He was born on the 30th. This is him and his big brother, Lucas. Congratulations to Lisa and Ed and the whole family....a new baby is so exciting. And he lives close enough that I will be able to visit when I want and not start wanting one of my own!!!
We had a great Christmas day...loaded with gifts and family. We had Christmas dinner at my house this year..........next year maybe we will even have the walls painted.

Savannah showing of her new Northface jacket and UGG boots......Gigi loves her new rollerskates (she calls them rolladates)

While getting ready to decorate our tree......Cassidy's friend decided to decorate her!

Sean is trying to teach Cassidy how to use her new ripstick........this thing is very hard to get used to..............no one broke a leg, though!
