My First Race!

Can you believe it????
ME............running a race.......
I was part of a marathon relay team. These are people that I work with at Children's Hospital. Everyone on the team except Maggie (far left), and myself were experienced runners. For Maggie and I this was our first, and we can't wait for the next one! I will admit I did have to walk part of the 5.8 miles because I have been sick for a few weeks (cough/congestion......very difficult to run when you have a coughing spasm after a few steps), but it was still fun and I will be better prepared for the next one. Other great news from this week.........My nephew, Sean, is back from his semester at sea. I didn't get to see him (I was at the race) but Joe and the girls went to watch the ship come in. They got to wave to him while he was on the boat, and he waved to them, but then they had to leave to get Savannah to Soccer practice. Well, that's all for now. Thanks for stopping.

My neice and nephew, Nicolas and Ashley, came over yesterday and stayed all day. We had a great time. Jadzia and Cassidy wanted to carry him around all day but he is too big. He is younger than Jadzia but weighs more. It was so fun having them around.

Cassidy loves to take pictures with my camera....here is a cute one she took of herself and Nicolas on our way to the playground and lunch>

Sorry that you have to tilt to the side, this is Cassidy after Jadzia gave her flowers. Cassidy had her first band concert last week. She plays the trumpet. This is her first year playing a wind instrument. She has played the guitar, piano, and violin......I am not sure which she likes better......or if she will stick with this instrument or try something else.

On Monday we went out to lunch with my dad for his birthday. (His birthday was really the 15th). My sister Anna came with us and Shirley came with us too. I think from looking at these pictures that Cassidy and Savannah are tired of me pulling the camera out everywhere we go! Well, that's all for now. Hopefully something exciting will happen this week.......it is vacation week for Savannah and Cassidy but we don't have a lot going on.
I'll post again soon.

Our day at the beach......

It wasn't easy to get around this corner. We got wet on the way out to the ship. We had to try to time our move with the waves, as you can see Cassidy doesn't mind getting wet. I finally just picked up Jadzia and carried her. The beach in the winter might not be as fun as in the summer, and you wouldn't want to stay to long, but we had a great time.

A Piece of History

We went to the beach today......this is a picture of a shipwreck that washed up on the beach last month. Is is most likely from an 1800's scooner. This is actually supposed to be the side of the boat. I would have guessed that it was the bottom, but the "experts" say it one of the sides. Jadzia, Cassidy and I went with Auntie Holly and we had a lot of fun. Cassidy and I got wet while trying to run away from the waves. Jadzia kept yelling "why are you afraid of the waves"......but she didn't want to get near them.

he said "It's only a game".....

I tried to find a suitable picture here........but none exist. I can't believe it, I am in shock. The whole season down the toilet.........Why Tom Brady chose last night to look like an idiot is beyond me. After the edge-of-your-seat (I didn't like the outcome, but the game was great), heart pounding, stomach turning game, my lovely husband turns to me and says..."it's only a game". Oh man, if looks could kill.............he probably won't want to say that again. Only THE game. Well, anyway I guess we weren't meant to win them all (I say "we", as if I had anything to do with it). I have come up with a few rules that need to be put into place prior to the start of next season (yes, it is time to look ahead...)
1. My husband is not allowed to watch the super bowl, unless he has watched all regular season games (he doesn't like football and he is bad luck)
2. Tom Brady's girlfriend can only watch the game from home....far, far, away.
3.We can not play any team in the super bowl (should we have the opportunity to play in next years' big game) that has a quarterback with the last name Manning.
Well, that's it. I'll try to post again soon.

Cassidy and Meg

I love this picture. I took this the last time we went to the nursing home to visit Nana. Cassidy is cuddling up with my Aunt's dog "Meg". Not a whole lot going on here.......Just waiting for the Superbowl to start. It has been a long day. Cassidy is not feeling well today......she came home from her friends house in the middle of the night. Stomach "bug", I'll spare you the details.......thanks for checking in on us. Go Patriots!!
